SHERLOCK SERIES 3 FILMING HAS BEGUN. Earlier today, Mark Gatiss tweeted that the first episode of series 3 will be called 'The Empty Hearse' and will loosely be based on the Adventure of the Empty House by Sir Athur Conan Doyle. This short story involves Sherlock's return to 221B Baker Street and the BBC version is somehow going to involve a rat in this episode. 3 teaser words given for this series are rat, wedding, bow. Benedict Cumberbatch promised that "the first episode is going to be amazing". (A hearse is a type of vehicle that carries a coffin to and from a funeral)

Unfortunately Benedict Cumberbatch apologised for getting our hopes up for series 4. "I really wasn't on my game that day...I have to clear up any rumours". Apparently as soon as Benedict Cumberbatch was interviewed for series 4 Mark Gatiss texted him saying "Well that's news to me dear". "It just depends on Martin and I's schedules but I think we're all really excited for a third series so let's just keep it as that".

Guess what everyone? Series 4 of Sherlock has been confirmed! Not officially, but in an interview, Benedict Cumberbatch stated "We've (Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch) already agreed to two more series" adding "All I know at the moment is that I'm doing these three and another three". He then admitted that he might get in trouble for saying that but oh well.
